CAMP POSTPONEMENT

Omaio Bay Camp Postponement

Kia ora Koutou,

We have not long received a call from Omaio to say that another person has passed and there is another who is very ill. We regret to inform you all that we have no choice but to postpone our camp to Omaio until the end of the year. We did toss up the idea of transferring our camp to an alternate week however we know that many of you have taken leave from your jobs and switching this is not an easy task. We also have some people who were crucial to the success of our camp who are not able to switch dates so we have made the executive decision to postpone. Things tend to happen in three’s and whilst Toni and I are extremely disappointed about having to postpone our trip with our two classes, our thoughts are without a doubt with our whanau in Omaio who are dealing with these sad events. This is the first year that Toni and I have had this occur.

We know that the children will be disappointed like us so we are planning a few days of fun activities for this week and we intend to have these confirmed by tomorrow. We would like to get the childrens input into what they would like to do as well but want to keep things free so as not to put pressure on our families.

In terms of a refund, you are able to select one of the three options below that works best for you and your whanau.

1.   You can go into the school office and request a refund.
2.   You can email your bank account details to exec@gisint.school.nz and ask Mrs Kay Bermingham to direct credit your refund.
3.   Your $90 can be credited toward something this year (Action Week, Sports Trips, Fee’s, End of Year Camp)

Thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding.
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa
Ana and Toni
