Week 8 is upon us already!

Kia ora koutou,

We are only two weeks away from the end of term 1. Time is flying but we are having a great time in 22@Gisint.

Many thanks to everyone who has booked a Learning Conference time via your child's Google Drive account. We only have 7 students left to book and it is really important that I meet with you all to share your child's all round progress and to set some goals for the rest of the year. Your child will bring home their term 1 report on Wednesday along with their Learning Journal. As we do the majority of their work online, they will also be sharing their work in their Google Drive folder and then asking you to complete a parent feedback sheet. Please take the time to fill this form out and if you have any queries write them down so that I can ensure your questions are answered at the Learning conference. I would appreciate having the Learning Journal and Parent feedback sheet returned by this Friday.

The children have tech in the morning so need to remember their gear. A gentle reminder that they still need to bring their togs and towel to school everyday just incase they use them.

If the weather is fine this week, Koka Kat will take us on our Te Unga Mai walk along the beachfront and around to the courthouse. She will explain the history of this area to the class and they will complete some activities back at school. We will also be visiting the museum next Thursday 2nd April seeing as we missed our visit last week due to Cyclone Pam. We will still do the Bob Marley and Maori Battalion exhibitions.

Next Monday, the children have their country projects due. They may dress up in some form of national dress of that country and bring along a shared plate of food from that country for our lunch. If your childs country is too hard to prepare food then they can just bring along something else to contribute.

Congratulations to Charli Blackburne and Kalais Piahana-Harrison who received our class certificates at assembly last Friday. Charli and Kalais are fantastic students who love to learn, are enthusiastic and have been making the most of the opportunities available to them. Tau ke - Charli and Kalais!
