Tech and Disco Tomorrow

Evening everyone,

Tomorrow we have tech so please remember your gear. Woodworkers and cookers must have their covered shoes.

Disco tickets will be for sale before school for $5 and tickets distributed tomorrow afternoon. Snacks will be for sale and children must be dropped off and picked up from inside the hall by an adult.

Today we focused on the process of science experiments through making 'sherbet'. There are some fabulous ideas flowing amongst the students and enthusiasm is beginning to build. A reminder that this is a long process and it is vital that the students spend enough time planning their speech, science fair project and story book properly. I will be supporting them in class with this over the coming weeks.

Bray, Neo and Flynn in various stages of happiness after sampling their ingredients. Congratulations to Bray and Neo who also received our Turanganui syndicate certificates today for being awesome students and having positive attitudes toward their class learning. Flynn was also acknowledged yesterday for completing the top boys project for his assignment on the British Virgin Isles.

And finally Jade who did not think her mixture was quite right! More Tartaric Acid anyone?

Castle Ball

Thanks heaps to Miss Gee and room 23 who taught us a new invasion game called 'Castle Ball'. One of our PE foci for this term is on 'Invasion Games' and we will be using different types of equipment to learn skills such as attacking and defending.

The aim of 'Castle ball' is to knock the tennis ball off the cone in your oppositions zone.

Not only good for strategy building but for our fitness prep for the cross country in week 9 and our winter sports!

Excellent for team building too!
