Here's a snippet from kapa haka last Friday...the singing is sounding beautiful and the haka is sounding fierce. We will be welcoming Whakatane Intermediate with a powhiri on Tuesday the 16th June @11am at the YMCA - please feel free to join us if you can and then enjoy two days of awesome competition in and around the school.
Hi everyone,
The children have tech tomorrow middle block and again on Thursday in the last block.
This week we aim to have our lip dub perfected and ready to be filmed on Friday. The children have made some awesome props and a number of our talented dancers have choreographed dance snippets and are teaching not only our class but rooms 23 and 24 this week too. We look forward to sharing our finished product with you next week. Your child may be searching around home this week for bits and pieces to use for their costume.
Many of our students have been making excellent progress with their speeches and science and technology fair projects. Our class needs to have their speeches completed by the end of next week so we will continue to work on these in class as well as at home. Science and Technology Fair projects do not need to be in until the middle of next term but we are continuing to work on these in and out of class to ensure everyone completes a quality project. As you have read in our blog posts we have done a number of science experiments in class, each time focusing on a different aspect of the science fair process. We will continue with this over the coming weeks so the children know exactly what is expected of them for the science and technology fair.
Poor Jasmyn getting attacked from the green 'Hulk' hands of this lot after our elephant toothpaste lesson last week.
Congratulations to Tevita Nusi and Jasmyn Broughton who received last weeks class certificates. Both Jasmyn and Tevita are awesome members of 22@Gisint!
Have a great week everyone!
